Police rescues abducted triplets in Imo

The Imo Police Command on Tuesday confirmed the rescue of two sisters abducted from Umulogho community in the state.

A Deputy Commissioner of Police,Dave Akiremi,  in the state, said the sisters were snatched by four gunmen who broke into the house of one Mrs Christiana Iroh on Jan. 11 at Umuadara and abducted two of her triplets.

Akiremi said the children were rescued unharmed at a hospital in the community, two days after their abduction, without paying any ransom.

The deputy commissioner said two people were assisting the police with ongoing investigation to track down the principal suspects. Akiremi advised members of the community, who were apprehensive since the incident, to go about their normal businesses.

``Despite the fact that the children have been recovered, we will not relent in our bid to arrest the bandits which will serve as deterrent to others,” he said
