Armed Robbers Attack Enyimba Players in Okene

Suspected armed robbers attacked players of Enyimba Football Club of Aba in the Okene area of Kogi state on Monday.

The players were heading to Kaduna for the Super 4 tournament when the incident happened.
The champion of the Nigerian premier league confirmed the attack through some messages posted on Twitter, saying players and officials were “stripped of their valuables”.

“We can confirm that our team bus was attacked by armed robbers this afternoon in Okene, Kogi State on our way to Kaduna for the #SuperFour.”

“Thankfully, there were no injuries during this unfortunate incident. Players and officials were however stripped of all valuables.” Players of Kano Pillars had a similar experience in Abaji, near Kogi, on their way to Imo state to honour their opening league match.
