Police arrest 2 for stealing hair attachment worth N75,000


 Two persons, Ibrahim Nura, 22, and Blessing Uche, 35, on Thursday appeared before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates' Court for breaking-in and stealing goods worth N75,000.




The accused persons appeared on three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and break-in.

The prosecutor, Inspector Gbemileke Agoi, told the court that the offences were committed in Railway Line area, Oyingbo, on Jan. 12 at 1.15 a.m.

Agoi said that the accused had conspired and broken into the shop of one Oluwatosin Nurudeen and stole 25 pieces of hair attachment valued at N75, 000.

The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravened sections 285, 305 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Ajibade, granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety who must be a blood relation with evidence of three years tax payment to Lagos State Government.

She also said that the accused must provide authentic residential addresses verified by the court.

The case was adjourned to Feb. 8 for mention.
