Persons with Special Needs

How would you love to be remembered, carefree, mean, Nice or even heartless.I Know that a lot of people still call the visually imper-ed persons BLIND or  disabled persons. The issues is,Persons living with disabilities wish to be seen as persons with great potentials, goals and not lesser human. For instance during a meeting with some of them,in Lokoja the kogi state capital in Nigeria They opened up and insist or prefer to be  called Persons with special needs. For instance in the northern part of Nigeria we call the visually impered person Blind/Makahu, and Persons with special hearing needs De-ff/Kuruma or bebe, we give the special needs persons names like: kuturu, gurugu, to mention but few.
we can make a difference in our society by creating awareness on Stigmatization and discrimination of persons with special needs. According to the 2006 Population and Housing Census the total of  3 253 169 and the percentage is approximately 2.32 per cent of Nigerian have special needs. You can  make a difference in our society
