Kaura community in Zaria local government area of Kaduna state has
appealed to Gov. Nasiru el-Rufa'i to probe the immediate past
administration in the state with a view to recovering siphoned funds.
Addressing journalists in Zaria on Friday, the spokesperson of the
community, Alhaji Abdullahi Magaji-Baba, said the call became imperative
in view of the alleged mismanagement of resources that characterised
the last administration.
Magaji-Baba, who hails from the same ward with former governor Mukhtar
Yero, expressed disappointment over the failure of the ex-governor to
complete the Zaria water project.
``We in Kaura ward in particular and Zaria in general has suffered from
the lingering water shortage which was a product of previous
administration.
Records have shown that the previous administration had received over
N200 billion as federal allocation in three years but there is no
project worth N500 million in the state,’’ he said.
According to him, the checking and correcting the wrongs of predecessors will deter others from committing similar atrocities.
He advised the present administration to endeavour to redeem its campaign promises for positive change.
