GOVERNOR IDRIS WADA WINS KOGI PDP PRIMARY







Governor Idris Wada of kogi state has emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state slated for November 21.

According to the results from the confluence stadium in lokoja, Wada emerged victorious in 20 of the 21 local government areas of the state.

His opponents, Alhaji Isah Echocho and Moses Ametuo, finished second and third respectively.

Wada scored 709 votes to beat his closest challenger, Isa Echoho, who got 139 votes in the primary election, which took place at the lokoja stadium.

The election was supervised by the governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Uguawanyi,  who announced the result of the primary at about 9:42pm Monday evening.

Wada will face the candidate of the all progressives congress,  Abubakar Audu, who had earlier won the primary election of his party, ahead of the November 21 election.

Echoho congratulated wada on his victory.



meanwhile,Accreditation of the 926 delegates that will pick the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the Nov. 21 election in Kogi has commenced at Confluence Stadium at about 2.30 p.m, venue of the primary election, reports that accreditation started late at about .

He said the exercise was progressing peacefully with security agents posted at strategic positions around the stadium as at the time of filling the report.

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, who is the Chairman of the electoral panel, had earlier in the day met with the three aspirants contesting the primary.

He assured them that his committee would conduct transparent, free and fair primary.

The three contestants are the incumbent governor Capt. Idris Wada, Alhaji Isah Echocho and Mr Moses Ametuo.
