Dangote,to collaborate with Kogi on automation skills centre

THE kogi state governor Capt. Idris Wada ,  performed a ground–breaking ceremony of a multi-billion naira skill development centre along the Ganaja-Ajaokuta road.

The skill acquisition centre; Dangote Automation Skill Development Centre, is the brain-child of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Groups and owner of the multi-billion dollar Dangote Cement in Obajana,  in Kogi State.
Captain Wada, who commended Dangote Group of Companies for considering the state as the host of the gigantic skill development centre, which is expected to provide the state with skilled man-power and technical expertise towards making youths in the state self-reliant, declared that his administration was committed to issues of youth development.


The representative of the President of Dangote Groups, Mr. J.B. Kunguni, had disclosed that the automation centre was a product of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative, where it pledged a partnership support to the state government towards the actualisation of an industry-oriented skills development centre in the state.
He said the centre would focus on technical skills development that relates to areas of competitive advantage of the state, which would include; manufacturing, steel, metal works, cement and agro-allied industries.
Mr. Kunguni disclosed that the trainees at the centre which would have tow section, factory automation and process automation would, at the end of their training, be awarded certificates of the City and Guilds of London.
