Attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in Northeast Nigeria are slowing down aid operations by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The agency says it has secured donations from its development partners and plans to spend up to four million dollars on humanitarian activities in the region this year.
According to the UNDP’s Regional Coordinator and Head of Maiduguri Sub-Office, Joerg Kuehnel, some areas are still unsecured because the insurgents are using them as hideouts.
He however notes that where there is no hindrance, progress has been made on the part of the state governments collaboration with humanitarian partners.
