The Chief Judge of Kogi, Justice Nasir Ajanah, has condoled with President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Yahaya Bello on the death of the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr James Ocholi.
Ajanah, in a condolence message issued on Friday in Lokoja, described the death of Ocholi, his wife and son in an auto crash last Sunday as “unfathomable’’.
He said that the loss of the minister “at this critical time of our national development is not only catastrophic but extremely overwhelming’’.
Ajanah said he met Ocholi in 1991 when he was posted to Ankpa as a Resident High Court Judge, adding that the late lawyer showed high sense of dedication to his calling.
``The dedication, industry and professionalism with which he handled cases marked him out as a special breed.
``Whether he won or lost any of his cases, you knew he had worked hard and presented the facts and expressed opinions as only a professional would,” he said.
Ajanah urged the president and Nigerians to take solace in the fact that Ocholi lived a fulfilled life.
``Our solace lies in the fact that it is not how long a person lived on earth but how well and what legacy he left behind.
``Ocholi lived a pious and fulfilling life. He was true to himself and his creator. He was a completely detribalised Nigerian. He will continue to be remembered for his good deeds.
``He was indeed a great man of God who would be greatly missed by his immediate environment, Kogi and the nation in general.
``It is apparent that death could not separate him from the Love of his Life.
``May God grant them a place on his right side and grant the family and the nation the fortitude to bear this irreparable national loss,’’ he prayed.
